The perennial question: RV toilet paper versus regular toilet paper. Single ply versus multi-ply. Maybe even standard versus perfumed? You need to do more than just keep the royal tush happy -- keep that holding tank free of clogs.
Here's one way to see how different rolled wipes stack up.
The best paper (combination of strength, softness and price) we've found after trying many is Sanibel 500. It's 2 ply, 500 shts per roll and though not the softest on the market, it is strong and yet comfortable to use. By the case of 48, it runs about $.40/roll, a fraction of the cost of most other rolls. You can buy it online or we found it at an RV superstore in Yuma AZ. I tested it, as in the video above, and it dissolved better than the Scott version we were using at the time and several others I've come across since then. I used to get drain blockages with the other brands, but none since using the Sanibel. I have a clear elbow at the drain connection so I can see how well the tanks are draining and since using the Sanibel I no longer have even a hint of the white blobs I used to see flowing out the hose, even when we're staying for extended periods in one location.
ReplyDeleteI have stayed in many Walmarts, Flying J/Pilot and some rest areas throughout the years. I have a 45' class A and without opening the drivers side slides, I cannot live in it. I have always spoken to the manager if overnighting was allowed and to where to park. I have asked about slides and levelers and have never been told I can't open the slides or not to use the levelers. As long as I don't obstruct the flow of traffic, they are ok with slides open and jacks down.
